Welcome to the Frankston North community website.

Frankston North is a small locality, forming part of the municipality of the Frankston City Council in the southern bayside suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and on the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula. It is located and is approximately five minutes drive from the Frankston Central Activity District and one hour drive from the Melbourne CBD.

The area was once a pine plantation and it is from that heritage that Frankston North is also known locally as The Pines.

Frankston North is the home of several annual events: Pines Pride Festival held on the 2nd Sunday of March in the Monterey Community Park; Neighbour Day on the 4th Sunday of March, is a get together where the community take the opportunity to get to know their neighbour;  and Drown Out, an evening of fun at the local Pines Aquatic Centre for school aged children and their families, which occurs at the end of the school year.  For more details see the Events Page.
